How your chart is calculated
From the date, time and place of your birth we work out the exact moment, using the time zone and the daylight saving time that applied at your birthplace back then. For that moment we calculate the positions of the Sun, Earth, Moon, the lunar nodes and the planets. Human Design uses a second moment as well, the design: the moment about 88 days before birth, when the Sun stood 88 degrees further back. Each of these positions falls into one of the 64 gates and one of its six lines. The 26 activations give you the defined channels and centers, and from those your type, strategy, authority, profile and definition.
What details you need
The date, time and place of your birth. The time is usually on the birth certificate; otherwise the registry office of your birthplace can help. The more exact it is, the more reliable the result, because the Moon and the lines move on within a few minutes. That is why we check your result at ± 15 minutes and tell you whether anything changes. If you do not know the time at all, we do not calculate a chart: type and authority can change during the course of a day.
What your chart shows you
The bodygraph with the nine centers, defined or open, and the channels between them. Alongside it your type with its strategy, your inner authority, your profile and your definition, each briefly explained and with a link to the full page in our library. You can save your chart as an image and share it.
Frequently asked questions
Is the chart really free?
Yes. The chart and the short explanations cost nothing and need no sign-up. If you want to know more, you can buy a detailed personal report. That is entirely optional.
What is the difference to the report?
The chart shows you the building blocks of your design with a short explanation each. The report describes in about 60 pages how they work together in you: your chart chapter by chapter, a guide for decisions, experiments for 14 days, a reference section and a glossary.
Why does the calculation need the place of birth?
The place determines the time zone and whether daylight saving time applied back then. One hour of difference can change the Moon, the lines and even the type.
Is Human Design scientifically proven?
No. Human Design is an interpretive system for self-reflection, not a scientifically proven method. It does not replace medical, psychological or legal advice.
