Channel 47-64: The Channel of Abstraction
This channel embodies abstract thinking that searches for the meaning of what has been experienced. Much of it revolves around the why, meaning the sense behind individual events and behind life as a whole. Insights arrive as separate aha moments, often in quiet times, and only later come together into a bigger picture. Along the way you may find yourself brooding a lot, which can feed tension and worry. Patience is seen as the antidote: insight can come when you give it room. Part of this theme is that other people's questions are often easier to resolve than your own, and that your thoughts can inspire others even without a final truth.
The two gates
Gate 47: The Gate of Realization
A puzzle resolves the moment the meaning behind it comes into view: realization belongs to Gate 47.
Gate 64: The Gate of Confusion
Gate 64 is about mental pressure: a restless mind working through a wealth of impressions and possibilities.
The two centers
When this channel is defined, both centers are defined.
Ajna Center
Your way of thinking is fixed and consistent, yet in this teaching it is not the mind that makes decisions.
Head Center
Your Head produces questions and ideas on its own, and not all of them need an answer.
