Channel 12-22: The Channel of Openness
This channel stands for felt openness in how you connect with others, for passion, and for bringing your feelings out into the world. Your mood affects the people around you even when you say nothing: a good mood can sweep others along, while a bad one can color the whole room. Emotional depth belongs to this channel; it can help others open up, but it can also overwhelm people who don't know how to handle it. The teaching considers it helpful to get clear on how you feel before you express yourself, and to lean toward avoiding company when you're in a bad mood. In the wrong environment, your voice can fail you, and depending on how you feel, you may find it hard to listen.
The two gates
Gate 12: The Gate of Caution
Gate 12 is about how carefully you express yourself. You weigh whether and when to say something, and with the wider public you tend to stay reserved.
Gate 22: The Gate of Openness
Grace in how you deal with people is the quality of Gate 22. How it comes across depends on your emotional state.
The two centers
When this channel is defined, both centers are defined.
Throat Center
The way you express yourself is consistent, and how it sounds depends on what your Throat is connected to.
Solar Plexus Center
Your feelings come in waves, and for you, clarity only arrives over time.
