Channel 24-61: The Channel of Awareness (Design of a Thinker)
This is a kind of thinking that chases after an inner truth and wants to grasp it with the mind. Thoughts keep circling back to where they started and are hard to stop, which can make it harder to switch off, including at night. Insights come in flashes that you can’t always back up: it is rationalizing without proof, a sudden knowing. Quiet, music and deliberately guided thoughts are considered helpful against the pressure, and so is accepting this disposition. One view holds that it is better to put this thinking in the service of others or of society than to get stuck chewing on your own unanswerable questions.
The two gates
Gate 24: The Gate of Rationalization
Your thoughts circle the same theme until it takes on a sensible shape.
Gate 61: The Gate of Mystery
Gate 61 is about the inner pressure to reach the truth and to know what is really so.
The two centers
When this channel is defined, both centers are defined.
Ajna Center
Your way of thinking is fixed and consistent, yet in this teaching it is not the mind that makes decisions.
Head Center
Your Head produces questions and ideas on its own, and not all of them need an answer.
