Channel

Channel 4-63: Logic (A Design of Mental Balance with Doubt)

This channel embodies logical thinking. It weighs probabilities and thinks connections through step by step. Doubt is part of it: even once a solution has been found, your mind likes to question it again, and the urge for answers doesn't let up. When you keep testing the future, you can easily slip into worry. It helps to accept this tendency rather than constantly fighting it. When it comes to other people's problems, where something really needs to be solved, your mind often focuses especially on finding the solution. Part of the pattern is running through scenarios in your head and considering new paths. One practice is to point your thinking toward what is useful and to brood very little where nothing can be changed anyway.

The two gates

Gate 4: The Gate of Formulization

Gate 4 lets your mind formulate answers. An open question puts it under pressure, and it wants to resolve it.

Gate 63: The Gate of Doubt

Gate 63 is about doubt, a constant pressure to ask whether things add up.

The two centers

When this channel is defined, both centers are defined.

Ajna Center

Your way of thinking is fixed and consistent, yet in this teaching it is not the mind that makes decisions.

Head Center

Your Head produces questions and ideas on its own, and not all of them need an answer.
