Profile

Profile 2/4: Hermit and Opportunist

Your Profile combines a need for retreat and a natural talent with a longing for contact and for being mirrored by others.

In the 2/4 Profile, retreat and contact sit close together, carried by two lines. The first number stands for your conscious side, the Personality, and the second for your unconscious side, the Design. Consciously, the focus is on retreat and selectivity; unconsciously, it is on contact, friendship and influence. The two sides pull in opposite directions, and your conscious side often has no idea of the second intention.

The second line stands for a natural talent that you yourself hardly notice. Because of this, your self-image can be hard to pin down, and often it is only feedback from others that shows you what you can do. Behind your friendliness lies a vulnerability: the fear of being exposed and experiencing rejection. That is why you may prefer one-on-one conversations and, in groups, hold back until someone approaches you.

When you are disturbed or overwhelmed, irritability can surface behind your gentleness, sometimes as a fierce outburst. This Profile’s description includes a creative, goal-directed side of your gift, which tends to show itself when you don’t overthink. In this description, teaching, advising and educating are added as your confidence grows. The Profile is called the “Hermit-Opportunist.”
