Authority

Emotional Authority

Your clarity grows over time, and a calm, settled feeling after the emotional wave is your guide.

Your Solar Plexus Center, the center of feelings, is defined. In Human Design, that makes it your inner Authority. About half of all people make decisions this way. This center is both a motor and an awareness center, so your feelings carry real force and are more than an echo.

The heart of this Authority: in the moment itself, there is no reliable truth. Clarity comes over time. The emotional wave lifts and lowers your mood according to its own inner rhythm. Something outside you can trigger a mood, but it does not cause the wave. What matters is what remains after the wave.

Clarity tends to feel more like a sense of rightness and inner peace than like excitement. Your feelings do not disappear; they simply stop pushing you in one direction. It is a calmer state that grows over time. There is no fixed waiting period. At least one night is considered wise, and for big questions it tends to be more like weeks or months.

In one reading, small everyday questions that need an answer right away can be answered from the mood of the moment; you then accept the outcome without expecting clarity from it. Try not to decide on larger purchases or on ending a commitment while you are at an emotional high or low. It can help to kindly ask others to wait, for example with “I’ll get back to you on that.” Some offers come with a deadline; in that case you can ask for time to think it over, or consciously decide that the deadline is too short.

A 14-day experiment

Over the 14 days, pick a few small decisions that are not urgent, and for each one jot down briefly how it feels on the same day, the next day, and after three days. Also note when the feeling did not change or when you were not able to do this.
