Type

Manifesting Generator

For you, quick action combines with your body's response, and the order is: respond first, then get going.

As a Manifesting Generator, you have a defined Sacral Center, and a motor is connected to the Throat, either directly or through other defined centers. This means your Type combines the Generator's power to respond with the ability to act right away. Roughly a third of people belong to this Type.

The order is the same as for the Generator: respond first, then act. Because nothing technically holds you back, the temptation to initiate is strong. When you take off quickly, you can easily rush past what truly belongs to you. Once a response is there, though, the action follows the reaction noticeably faster than it does for a pure Generator.

Once you get moving, something more can still come to light. You can, in a sense, try on your first yes before you commit: sometimes the first step shows that it isn't right after all. In this view, changing your mind after trying something on counts as part of the path rather than as a mistake.

Doing several things at once comes naturally to this Type, and steps easily get skipped along the way. That makes you fast and, at the same time, more prone to errors. According to one reading, because your Throat is defined, a second voice from the Throat can show up alongside your gut response; telling the two apart then takes practice.

Frustration and anger are considered the Not-Self when something moves too slowly or doesn't work out, and so is hard work on things that don't belong to you.

A 14-day experiment

For 14 days, pay attention to when you take on several things at once. Each evening, write one sentence about whether a step got skipped, and also note the times when everything went smoothly.

Strategy: To Respond

The Strategy of the Sacral-defined Types, meaning Generators and Manifesting Generators, is To Respond. Rather than setting things in motion on your own initiative, you wait to see what life offers and pay attention to how your body reacts to it. This response is the core of your Strategy, because your motor can only respond to something that is already there.

Waiting here does not mean doing nothing. You go along with something when the response feels right. Yes-or-no questions your body can react to are helpful. An open question like “What do you want?” tends to speak more to your head.

The Strategy applies to big things and small ones alike, and you can try it out even at a restaurant. In this view, the path leads from Frustration to Satisfaction.
