Reflector
None of your centers is consistently defined, and for important decisions your Strategy calls for a full lunar cycle.
As a Reflector, your bodygraph has no consistently defined center. That puts you in the rarest Type: about one percent of people, and in some accounts up to one and a half percent.
At the level of the centers, nothing in you is fixed. Your experience can shift with your surroundings, with the people around you, and with the position of the planets. You reflect your environment, and others often see something of themselves in you. Views differ on how deeply what you reflect shapes you: some describe it as taking in other people's energies that you learn to let go of again, others as a mirroring that marks you less deeply than it does people of other Types. This picture of the Reflector also includes a feel for groups as a whole, such as a family or a team, and for the tensions within them.
That's why finding yourself can be harder. Your identity can blur with what you reflect. The qualities of individual centers don't belong to you in a fixed way, so they don't work as a self-image. Place carries special weight: in the wrong spot, other people's moods and thoughts can flood you. Regular time on your own can help you step back from that.
Your Strategy is to wait a lunar cycle of about four weeks before important decisions. What happens during that time is described in the sections on Strategy and Authority.
The Not-Self theme of the Reflector is Disappointment, especially when you take yourself to be what you're only reflecting. Its counterpart is called Surprise: meeting life fresh with a sense of wonder, without pinning yourself down.
For one full lunar cycle (about four weeks), write one sentence each evening about where you were and how you felt there. At the end, look at whether anything differs by place, and also note where that didn't hold true.
Strategy: Wait a Lunar Cycle
The Reflector's Strategy is to wait a full lunar cycle, about four weeks, before making important decisions. It applies only to the decisions that really matter. Why it takes a complete cycle is explained in the Authority section.
During this waiting period, you talk with people you trust and listen to yourself, without taking on their views as your own. The place you're in is also part of the practice. In this view, the path leads from Disappointment to Surprise.
