Projector

Human Design sees your strength in recognizing the energy of others, and for the big turning points in life, you wait for an invitation.

As a Projector, you aren't built for sustained output, regardless of whether your bodygraph shows defined motors. What matters is how you use energy. Roughly one in five people belongs to this Type.

Human Design sees the strength of this Type in recognizing, guiding and coordinating the energy of others. To do that, this Type needs other people, especially Generators and Manifestors. Out of this dependence, a fine-tuned understanding of the people around you can grow.

The Strategy is to wait for invitations when it comes to the big turning points. What counts as an invitation is described in the section on Strategy.

You can charge yourself up on other people's energy and then feel stronger than you really are. Over time, this can wear down your reserves. That's why it's considered fitting to go to bed before tiredness sets in and to have regular time to yourself. One helpful question here: How can you reach a similar result with less effort?

The Not-Self theme of the Projector is Bitterness: the feeling of being overlooked and of having to prove yourself. Its counterpart is called Success. In this view, that means that what suits you finds its way to you.

A 14-day experiment

For 14 days, notice after perfectly ordinary encounters whether you feel more charged up or more drained. Each evening, write down one sentence about it, and also note the times when you couldn't clearly tell, or when it turned out differently than you expected.

Strategy: Wait for the Invitation

The Projector's Strategy is to Wait for the Invitation when it comes to the big turning points. An invitation counts when someone has truly noticed you and is responding to your actual qualities. A compliment on how you present yourself is something else.

In one reading, it doesn't have to be formal and can also be tucked into a question or a passing remark; even then, what counts is that it speaks to your qualities. You don't accept it out of gratitude, but only once everything fits, ideally on your own terms.

In everyday life, unsolicited advice is easily met with rejection, because in that moment the Projector's aura presses into the other person's field. So you tend to share your insight when someone asks for it. In this view, the path leads from Bitterness to Success.

Human Design is a system of interpretation, not a scientifically proven method. Read this description as an invitation to observe yourself.
